Suzanne says:
The Herbst Administration has answered the call of fiscal responsibility with the least harm to any department. Taxes have been kept down, out of control spending has been reined in, bonding is thoughtful and thoroughly investigated. Pension plans have had monies directed into them to help with the underfunding.
My own office needs to have the computers replaced; the COTT system needs to be upgraded, the vault needs to have space issues resolved. We are currently working on some of the space issues by reducing the size of the older books and replacing them with smaller volumes. We can remove 8 older books and have room for 24 of the small volumes. Time is the problem here, as those books take many hours to edit, review and proof the scanning and the indexing.
I hope to sell the monstrous map case (cost $46,000.00) because it blocks the vault aisle and it is not used up to code (the doors do not fit on properly in there). We have just had all of the additional maps scanned in, and are awaiting them to be received in the Docuware program. I enjoy and tidy and efficient operation, with staff happy and working together to resolve issues.
